Construction Career Day
Construction Career Day 2023 took place on Thursday, April 13th, between 8 AM - 2 PM at the Mathewson Exhibition Center on the Missouri State Fair Grounds, in Sedalia, MO.
The 2023 event was a huge success! Below are some of the specifics:
- Over 500 student's attended
- 24 school districts were represented
- 7 new schools were included
- 39 businesses participated
- We had 48 booths

The purpose of Construction Career Day is to engage students and educate them about the opportunities within the construction industry today. Students have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with interactive displays, equipment operation and learning labs. Career opportunities that students can explore include:
- Heavy equipment operation
- Concrete
- Welding
- Heating and cooling
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- And many other construction related trades
At the 2019 event, we had approximately 400 students attend, representing 47 school districts. 86% of students surveyed after our last event had a positive opinion of a career in construction and 75% of students say they are now interested in a career in the construction industry after attending the event

We are asking you to be a part of the effort to grow the next generation workforce and assist in addressing the shortage of craft persons in our industry by sponsoring and/or participating in this event. Last event, we had significant interest and had to limit attendance due to budgetary and safety considerations. This year we are increasing student capacity. Our goal is 1000 students and hope you will support us in this effort.
